Today I was listening to Sho’s new album and kept thinking, “Everyone needs to have this album.” So I’m blogging to tell you five reasons this project is worth your investment.
1. Wordplay
One of the things I’ve always admired about Sho as an emcee is his creative and clever wordplay. One listen to “Lion’s Anthem” and you’ll know exactly what I mean. It’s a good feeling when you listen to a song for the 20th time and you still catch something new.
2. Great Storytelling
Story telling has always been a part of hip hop. Sho happens to do it exceptionally well. You’ll get stories about lions, liars, and even get to peak into the life of Sho. It engaging, entertaining, and challenging.
3. Great production
One thing I’ve learned is that your songs can only be as good as your production. Lions and Liars has top notch production from start to finish that complements Sho’s lyrical gifts perfectly. The sound is diverse and uniquely Sho Baraka.
4. Sho’s growth as an artist
Contrary to Sho’s public claims, we all loved his first album. But in between TMLU and L&L he got even better at the stuff he was already great at. And he became great at some new things as well. It makes for a quality offering from a seasoned emcee.
5. Encouragement to be a lion
Sho set out to encourage us to glorify God in our various fields. The album will hit you right where you live and will challenge you to think like God thinks and to love like God loves. Jesus is exalted and we are encouraged to live by faith. The album is relevant to believers and skeptics, and it will challenge all who hear it.
So there you have it. 5 great reasons you should pick it up next week. If you don’t have enough money, skip lunch for a few days and get fed Tuesday. Your ears and your heart will thank you. I could have mentioned the fact that Sho needs money to support his hairstyle changes or that I’m featured on two songs, but I think those five will do.
Get the album in our store, at Wal-Mart, iTunes, Christian bookstores, etc.
I’m trying to resurrect my short-lived Tuesday blogging. Let’s see how it goes. Check back next week

Keep doing your thing Sho...
BTW, I loved the podcast too.
I enjoy reading your blogs.....and I know you are busy so please take this comment lightly.....but I noticed that on every blog you write, there are some people that ask questions.....but you do not seem to respond....is there a reason for that? Or maybe you respond privately. Blogs are definitely another way to interact with the fans and brothers
Keep goin guys. Life is a vapor, then you stand before your Maker. This life will soon be past, only what's dropped for Christ will last!
