Summer Reflection

By Lecrae

This summer has been full of surprises and interesting dynamics. We have been traveling the world not just entertaining people but actually trying to be a light in a dark world. The trials were plentiful again this year. Losing loved ones, strained relationships, and unforeseen circumstances. I just want to ask our family to continue to pray with us.

The summer is not over and even if the "buzz" dies down the ministry won't stop. We still need prayer and more support than ever.

As an encouragement just want to plead with our family, Don't Waste Your:

Time - Knowing tons of sports stats, lyrics, trivia answers is great and wonderful, but if you know all that and none of God's word there is a problem. If we can spend time becoming the greatest X-box player and not study God's word, develop gifts, serve others, etc. I'd say we are wasting precious time we have been given.

Money - "You have your money as a steward, not as an owner. You don't own anything, not even your bodies. You are a manager. Get the notion that you own things out of your head. This means that your money is wasted if it does not acheive the purposes of its owner - God. You have been entrusted with money so that the way you use it will show that Jesus is more valuable than money. How will you do that? That's the challenge of life in America." -John Piper

We even ask you consider giving to REACHLIFE. Check the link for more info.

Talents - Don't spend all your time chasing down some bigger way to use your gifts. Use them right where you are. Your local church, city, community, and family can benefit greatly and see how incredible God is through you. Be faithful with the little and God may entrust you with more. He may not though.

Remember whatever you do... do all for the glory of God.

  • Kevin Hayes (Aug 12th at 3:37 PM) I just want to thank you, personally for you sharing your vision with all of us. One year ago today, I was incarcerated and looking forward to coming home. I gave my life to Christ while I was down, came home and God has opened unimaginable doors for me since then. I was introduced to Reach Records by my younger brother, when I cam home, and wouldn't you know that ALL of the secular music that I had got stolen out of my car, less than a week after that. God knows our weakness and that music was mine. Thankfully, I have found my Life in Christ. So all of that music is evil to me now! This summer, on June 6th, I attended the DWYL tour in Woodbridge, VA and to witness the artists that I put secular music down for, in person, Glorifying the Lords name, was the most important event of my summer. We brought the youth of our Church, as well, and I am sure none of them will ever forget it. I am a vessel for the good news about Our Lord, as well, because our youth are watching and we have to show then the benefit of living in HIM! Thank You Lecrae
    To GOD Be the Glory!

Your music is always uplifting, encouraging, challenging and exciting, all rolled into one. Y'all are in our prayers always.

  • Chadley (Aug 13th at 11:38 AM) The talents paragraph hit me a bit...thanks. :)
  • Antonio Nunes (Aug 13th at 12:30 PM) Godbless Crae, the rest of RR, and everyone else that reps Jesus. you guys should come back to Florida and rep Jesus on your next tour or something, there's a lot of publicity down here and the word of Christ can get out to a wider crowd. There's so man people that don't understand the power of our Savior. And thanks for the entry, it got me thinking a lot bou what I'm doin.
  • Ashley (Aug 13th at 9:13 PM) You fellas are always in my prayers..Crae, Trip, T, Sho, and Flame. This tour is once again proof that God truly does answer prayer. Since coming to know you guys a few years back I made a request to God how amazing it would be to have y'all be on the same stage..and bingo Don't Waste Your Life Tour is what God gave me. Though I missed the only MA date in my area. Mt best homegirl and I will be flying to GA to see you guys!! so i am so amped and pumped to glorify God with you and to feel and just be in the presence of God. I will continue to pray for you..going to this tour is the best part of my summer, and right before I have to go back to work as well. The way God uses you kats enriches my soul and thirst for God. Grace, peace and love always!
  • Michael Azonye (Aug 13th at 11:52 PM) Hovah-Jireh

I just started to free style; I guess I am just trying to find my style/ Yah thatâ??s right to spit lyrical verses/
But wait we ainâ??t talking about smoking, joking, or anything corrupting; but rather things truly worthwhile/ We singing about abstinence, we singing forgiveness, we singing about repentance, the most unthread coarse/ Yah thatâ??s right morals bigger than a horse/

Hook: Hovah-Jireh hip-hop is full of liars/ Guys arenâ??t your tired, of listening to these liars/ Come unto Christian, hip hop thatâ??s popping/ Then watch your life change through the Messiah/

In the past hip hop music was used to bring dudes closer to hell; the place where those who delight in sin will dwell/ Things concerning a lifestyle without discipline they say is the only thing that will sell/ youth got music that say parental advisory yet parentâ??s are like oh well/ the music contain filthy stuff/ Itâ??s all about smoking stuff, till you get lung cancer because your body had enough/ So why do it because it will make you though/ Sounds stupid, yet so many young minds are listening to it/

Hook: Hovah-Jireh hip-hop is full of liars/ Guys arenâ??t your tired, of listening to these liars/ Come unto Christian, hip hop thatâ??s popping/ Then watch your life will change through living for the Messiah/

Luckily some cut on to this destructive nonsense and started to vent/ Maybe is because after buying liquor and smoking up they didnâ??t have enough for rent/ Even worse their clothes always had an evil scent / Yet quality hip hop music ainâ??t in stores; So some start to believe the lie that hip hop is about guns, sex, and hores/ Thus we find carnal desires without moral attire; and so we see that we are in a situation thatâ??s most dyer/ But thanks be to God we have artist whose morals are as hot as flaming fire; who spit God and things that are morally higher/ So young bucks know that you have music that brighter; songs that sing about the living Messiah/

Hook: Hovah-Jireh hip-hop is full of liars/ Guys arenâ??t your tired, of listening to these liars/ Come unto Christian, hip hop thatâ??s popping/ Then watch your life will change through living for the Messiah/
  • Jonathan (Aug 14th at 4:23 PM) i have done everything that i shouldn't have done. Now I want to turn everything around. I used to follow Jesus until i started talking to this oine girl. After 4 months i was good until she wanted to meet me. Than I fell down and couldn't get back up. I went to Las Vegas to meet her and lost my virginity (sorry so personal), started drinking and hanging out with the wrong crowd. I'm 22 and was waiting to get married. I dont regret it but to me it was a test and a sign that no matter what we all cant be perfect. I was in love and made a mistake. I still love her but she don't feel the same way. She is everything of the world and I need to get over her but it's hard and I need you all to pray for me. If you have any advise that will help email me please grudge_lv_702@yahoo.com Thank you

  • David Gathuru (Aug 25th at 11:19 AM) Hey Lecrae, Trip Lee, Tedashi, Flame and Sho, when are you guys coming to Kenya? Your songs are a big hit here! Dont Waste your Life, I'm a Believer, the Kobe Bryant song to name just a few, are making waves here!
  • Terrell King (Aug 25th at 3:04 PM) God is doing a powerful work through you Lecrae and all at Reach.

You guys need to come over here to London again. Last time my wife had a fellowship at our house, and in true sacrificial style I skipped the concert to support her and be 'the man of the house'...

I'll holla at you with some of my beats soon. Love and prayers from the UK.
  • Terrell King (Aug 25th at 3:15 PM) Oh yes,

And convicting words. I am stirred to brush up on my ryhme game, and start making beats again - I'll really appreciate it if I do when I go out to start a work for God one day.

Hey bwana David, pole sana. Unatoka Kenya? Mungu Akubariki!
  • Inky (Aug 25th at 5:31 PM) You guys' music is amazing! You can definitely see Him at work in your music! I want to encourage young adults to listen past the beats and really hear what you're saying when you quote the lyrics! The words are powerful but you HAVE TO LIVE YOUR LIFE IN THE SAME MANNER or listening to the songs won't make a difference!
    God bless!
  • Nikki Whiting (Aug 27th at 10:47 AM) I was at your DWYL tour show in Minneapolis,MN. It was AMAZING! Then to see you at church the next morning, rapping! That was so cool! ( i go the Bethlehem Baptist, John Piper) You and the rest of the 116 crew are truly a blessing. God is using you guys in some incredible ways! Through listening to your music God has created within me a passion to be a light in this world or darkness. I am a senior this year, and want God to use me to reach the lost at my school. God has been getting me more excited about this school year with each passing summer day. He has been creating within me new ideas and one of them includes you. There are so many people at my school that God would touch through your music. so... i was thinking something on the lines of a outreach envent... there's more to my idea, but would like it if you could contact me through email. This is the only way i thought i might be able to contact you, and hope it works=)
God bless you and remember DON"T WASTE YOUR LIFE!

"There will come a time when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear."

    (2 Timothy 4:3)

May God bless you and your efforts, brother.

  • CMU (Sep 24th at 4:29 PM) I just want to say that I appreciate what you and your squad are doing as Holy Ghost Hip Hop artists! Your "Rebel" album is one of the best I've ever heard - Christian AND Secular Hip Hop included!

I am 36 years old (an old school Hip-Hop head!) and am part of a ministry team called Destined Youth Ministries based out of Hawthorne, CA - http://destinedyouth.com. I'm desperately trying to expose our band of teenagers to the world of Holy Ghost Hip Hop through your album and the albums of other artists. Our kids are struggling with accepting the truth that Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit is real and the world they live in is a lie. Thanks to your ministry - specifically your song "Truth" - I have found a way to help explain this truth to them on their level. Pray with me that our kids receive it.

Thank God for your ministry and I hope you and your squad hit Southern Cali soon!
  • Andrew (Sep 29th at 6:05 PM) Hey Man, I hope you read this. I'm probably not your "typical" listener. I'm 31 and about as white as they come. Usually listening to something in the "rock to hard rock" genre. Been a christian for years...and lived a straight life (praise God for that!). Anyways I stumbled accross the vid for Jesus Music and had to check out more. The one that I GOTTA listen to a few times a day is "Don't Waste Your Life"... I've passed up so many things, so many chances to take a risk fo God... and this song hits me hard. I love it. Peace man, don't ever stop. And hey, come north of the border into Canada sometime!
  • Dave Chaffee (Oct 6th at 7:08 PM) I just want to say thanks for saying focused. We at agents for christ have been so blessed by your ministry and heart to reach the lost! Last year i was listening to my friend MP3 and as I was browsing through her songs, this one song caught my attention,it was call "TAKE ME AS I AM" the main part that caught my eye was when you said "He'll take you as you are, and he'll change YOU
From the inside, out" from that moment i knew that i didnt need to try to change and that through GOD everything where possible. And i just wanna thank you so much Lacrae for everything you done and that you changed my life and without a young and inspiring rapper like you and Christ i wouldnt make it and thank you once again.

  • Kimberly Clivens (Oct 26th at 3:11 PM) Dear Lecrae,

My son was given a cd of yours and I listened to it as I listen to everything he gets. When I heard you, I knew that you were anointed. It was the same passion I had for Christ when I was young. There wasn't a Lecrae to encourage me because you weren't born. What you are allowing God to do through you is what has been needed for a long time. A young man who stepped up and took a leadership role for Christ. I am so proud of you.

I listened to your cd and heard Trip Lee. I felt a motherly bond for the two of you. I would like to adopt you as my spiritual son. Please know that I am not trying to replace your mother or anyone else in your life that you look to as a mother. I just believe that God has given you an extra one. He has called me to be a mother to more than just my children. My children and I talk about everything and they are free to talk about their joys, pains, worries or just hangin'.

Pray about this and let the peace of God lead you. If you feel led to, write me back. I will support you and the ministry with my prayers and funds. If there is anything else I can do let me know.

In my heart, the two of you are already my sons and I will do everything I can to help you.

Go in God and may His peace rest upon you and your household. May He increase you and prosper you in all your ways.
  • jonah castillo (Oct 30th at 2:05 PM) I just want to say thanks to everyone at reach records the songs God gives you guys to sing have had a great influence on my life and how I need to rep christ everywhere I go.
