“Sunday is just one day…” – DJ Official updates

“Sunday is just one day…” – DJ Official updates

“Sunday is just one day….”

My boy Mac The Doulos once said “Sunday is just one day, hey I’m a christian all the time. I’m on mission”.  Ever since I heard that line, it has stuck with me and the truth behind this line. For those who haven’t heard it (hopefully you will).  It’s going to be on my upcoming album “EnterMission”, where we deal with the topic of being missional.  One might ask, “What does it mean to be missional?” Being missional means to use your everyday walk, talk, behavior, in such a way that people are affected by the gospel message. It’s by you and what you do.  Just like people are sent overseas to communicate the gospel to people who don’t know it, we as christians are commanded in the bible to do the same thing in our own backyard.  In John 17:18 it says “As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world” (ESV).  Now he didn’t send it just to send us, but he sent us with the purpose of sharing the gospel to those around us.  Both far and near.

When I was presented with an opportunity to do an album. I wanted to make sure that it would impact people and they could use it to better help in their everyday walk.  As my friend Miguel and I were speaking about a subject, we came up with the idea of doing an album based on missions.  Now when many people think of missions they think some small town in the middle of nowhere, where they have to travel long hours to get too. Though that is needed I wanted to create an album that dealt with missions on a more everyday life level. Your home, your workplace, your street, and your church.  Many have forgotten that the people right next to us are in need of a Savior and we are the ones to tell them. Here enters “EnterMission”.

I got of chance to work with many artists for this project.  Twenty-seven artists to be exact.  This is strictly a compilation where I will be producing each track. I’ll let those who have been gifted to rap/rhyme or sing do their job. I will not be rapping, but will help in the overall theme, styles, music and sound of this album.  One thing about me is that I love music and many different forms of music, and I love creating them too.  So on this album you will hear – Reggae, Downsouth, East Coast, Commercial, Underground, Electro, and Rock/Hipster.  As I always wanted to do an album that better fit what I listen to and who I am.

A little update on the album “EnterMission”…

I am almost finished.  Many songs are in the mixing stages. That’s where we get the levels right and polish the tracks.  Give a kick that thump, give a snare that crack, and give those vocals their shine. I’m still waiting on a couple of verses, but it shouldn’t be to much longer before I get all the vocals and all the album will be in the mixing process.  Then we go to mastering.  That’s where we get the album sounding like it sounds when you open the package of a cd or when you download a mp3.

This has been on my heart for awhile to do a project, but the Lord saw fit for it to happen at this time.  Creating a cd is a major task and to see everything happen from beat creation, to songwriting, to mixing has been a beast and a great joy.  I would not have it any other way. It helps me trust in the Lord, It helps me work hard, it helps me challenge myself and it helps me keep focused on the mission.  I hope you enjoy “EnterMission”.  As I have enjoyed creating it for the glory of GOD and for the encouragement of his people.  A good friend of mine wrote a song that spoke the words “Send me, I’ll go!!!!”. This album has the same theme and purpose “Send me, I’ll go”.  I wouldn’t have it any other way…..

Here is the verse that birthed that song which is also the verse I sign when people ask for my signature.

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I! Send me” – Isaiah 6:8

Hey man, I appreciate all you do for the kingdom! Some of your songs have been great encouragement to me. I'm excited about this new album as well!! I do have a question for you though. What are you using the ESV for? The one and ONLY Bible is the KJV. You should know this. You switch to the KJV and believe that that is Truly the Perfect word of God and anything else is false and wrong, then I'm sure God will bless your career more than you can ever know.

Proverbs 30:5-6 Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto His words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. (KJV)

All glory to the King!!

I have a brief message for my brother Jacob Coe. Mate, I hope and pray that your remark about the KJV being the "Truly the Perfect word of God and anything else in false and wrong" (your words, not mine) was made in total sarcasm otherwise I fear the teaching you recieve. To make ridiculous statements like that Jacob, sadly shows your spiritual immaturity.

I want to encourage you in love to go and do some solid research into the area of bible translations and I know that you will be challenged with what you will discover. I pray that you may have a heart ready to change through the work of the Holy Spirit.

You may even want to begin listening to our faithful Christian brothers such as John Piper, Don Carson, John MacArthur to suggest a few.

In Christ,
Dave Chapman

Yo, the translators of every version have never claimed a perfect translation. The only perfect word of God is the originals in the original Greek and Hebrew. I prefer the Authorized Version (from the manuscripts of the Textus Receptus) which has produced the NKJV and KJV, but other translations that use the majority text (ESV, NASB) are good too. No English translation is perfect, but His Word is and it will never return void.

Honestly, I'm a King James guy. After comparing the manuscripts used for translating the different versions, the people who did the work, and contextual usage, I have concluded that the KJV is the most accurate translation. But to say that the KJV itself ist the "Perfect Word of God" is taking it too far. This is why I refuse to be part of the KJV Only crowd. Do your homework and decide for yourelf which translation you should use.

In His Service,
Matt

i am so stoked to get this cd! all glory to God to be using you in such a great way!! are lecrae and trip gonna be on this cd? Who are the reggae artists?

ashley alafberg

Ashley, Lecrae and Trip will be on the album. There is a good chance one of the ragge artists will be Benjah, whose really good. Jacob Coe, I love the KJV, but I wouldn't go over to China and give it to its people. I would have to translate it again, right? So, in my mind, there's not only one translation.

i like ur motive but i been thinking arent we supposed to jes live a life in pursuit of God and by virtue of the fact that we wanna be with him and we love him and we spending intense times with him in prayer then wont our lives show off God as a by product.holla somebeody lets talk about this.

I believe that God Preserved Every single word of His in translation. Not just as whole but EVERY WORD. Do you really think that God wouldn't preserve Every Single one of His words for us? Do you really think that He would let His words get mixed up and lost in translation? To say and think that is an insult on His Power and Majesty.
ESV and NASB are not good and they are not ok. I showed you a verse (Proverbs 30:6)that said not to add unto His words. And that is what ESV and NASB do, they think they can just go and add or take away from Gods Words and every thing be ok, and you guys seem to blind to it.

Deuteronomy 4:2 "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you." (KJV)

All Glory to the King!!

Yo Jacob homie the Bible wasnt originally written in English bro thats all these folks are sayin. I agree with you completly that God has preserved His Word throughout history 100%... But did you know that every italiciced word in the KJV wasnt in the original text? It was added to try to add clarity for English speakers cause the word in Hebrew doesnt translate well. Sometimes it makes it easier to understand but sometimes it takes away from the original meaning. Anyways bro its still an awesome translation,I read it but we shouldnt hate on people who read other translations ya dig?

– Oct 18 2009

Good word there Joshua. Jacob, I love the NKJV... I read, study and preach from it. That being said, go to google and lookup 'Interlinear Scripture Analyzer.' There's a free download. It has the entire Bible in Hebrew (OT) and Greek (NT). Really opened my eyes to the fact that none of our translations are without flaws. Nevertheless, as long as a translation doesn't alter any MAJOR doctrine (ie: justification by faith alone), it should be accepted for 'doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness.' 2Tim. 3:16
Hope this helps. Peace.
